Sunlight seeker – capturing a Galician sunrise
I just love light, in every way, shape and form and most of my pictures try to convey my constant need for seeing bright places.
Galicia is known for its long Summer days and incredible sceneries and every time I pay it a visit, I find myself surrounded by its radiance.
In this small visual story, I am going to tell you about one of my sunlight seeker adventures through Galician hamlets and villages… At some point I totally lost myself (both mentally and physically 😀 ) in the beauty of nature, but eventually I managed to find the sea and I got to immortalize a wonderful Galician sunrise.

Wandering on the highway – protected by the green
Yes I was afraid – It was 8:30 AM and I had basically lost myself – but I felt sort of protected by the green landscape… I was like: “It is all so beautiful around me, nothing bad can happen, nothing can harm me.”
The worst moment was when I got out of the car and a deer popped out of the blue: we looked at each other for an endless second, then it just ran away. Had I not been paralyzed with fear I would have definitely taken a few pictures of it. 😀
A walk on the dry grass – small signs of life
I decided to walk from there in the hope of meeting someone to show me a good place where taking pictures of the rising sun and show me the way back home.
This is all I met in my fifteen-minute walk on the dry grass:
Anyway, I felt I was getting close to my goal and I was not wrong one bit…
Welcome to the land of light – Nature opened the curtain
I suddenly found myself walking on a wooden bridge. It was strange, I did not even realize that. I looked up and noticed two rows of trees flanking the bridge… I was basically in a rural avenue and the sunlight filtering through those trees was whispering me: “Come and see me!”
The endless bridge – a catwalk to sunrise
The two rows of trees started to vanish after a few hundred meters… It was me, the wooden bridge and an intense sunlight coming from a distant drop. Such a drop was covered by a cape. Still, a long way to go, but I had to see that sunrise before the sun was too high. I think I ran a little bit lol, but I made it! No words can describe it, you have to see to believe… Below is just a preview: one of the last trees is protecting his majesty the Sunrise.
And now get ready for the real deal…
Out of time – meeting the sun on a wild, solitary beach
I was determined to see what lay under the cape and I was prepared for a lot of things, but I never thought I would find a wild, solitary beach illuminated by its personal sun. I was wondering if I had really been invited there by the sunshine or if I had interrupted a daily, yet emotional natural event.
Anyway, I attempted to not be too indiscreet and barely stayed there one minute… Just the time to immortalize that moment:
Reality or fantasy? the camera never lies but…
Had I not had my trusted mobile phone with me, I would have struggled to believe I had seen such an amazing place. Believe it or not, save for the deer, the flower and the snail, I was alone the whole time… I did not meet anyone, neither on my way there, nor on my way back to the car.
Days later, I tried to return to that beach, but I was unable to find it.
Did I spend some time in another dimension?
Till next sunshine quest…
